Alvarez & Marsal, which specializes in performance improvement services, has appointed Vikram Utamsingh run a new transaction advisory group in India, according to a company statement.
Utamsingh, who has 20 years experience in Indian M&A, was previously at KPMG India where he worked on due diligence, M&A strategy, restructuring and valuation.

The firm’s expansion in India “reflects increased demand from private equity firms and strategic acquirers for an integrated due diligence approach that combines financial accounting, tax and operational due diligence services”, the statement said.
“As private equity firms increasingly focus on growth markets around the world, cross-border investments in and out of India present opportunities.”
Paul Aversano, global head of A&M’s transaction advisory group, added: “We’ve launched transaction advisory capabilities in India and around the world to address the needs of cross-border growth and value investors. We are pleased to welcome Vikram and his experienced leadership to the A&M family.”
