Apex Group hires for Nordic expansion

The fund administrator is waiting for regulatory approval to launch management company and fund distribution services in Sweden.

Apex Group announced that it is expanding its management company and fund distribution services in the Nordic region.

The service provider already has offices in Denmark and Sweden, but is looking to grow its corporate, business and capital markets services in the region.

Apex said it intends to launch Fundrock Sweden to establish a management company and fund distribution services in the region, but it is waiting for final approval of the offering from the Luxembourg regulator the CSSF.

As part of its launch, the service provider announced it hired Felix Edgren as regional head of corporate product, Nordics. Based in Sweden and reporting to HP van Asselt, global head of corporate products and growth, Edgren will be responsible for leading growth in the Nordic region. He will also oversee Fundrock Sweden, once the subsidiary gains regulatory approval.

Felix Edgren

Edgren joins from Nordic Trustee in Stockholm, where he was director for corporate bond and loan transactions. He brings over a decade of experience in fund services, having served in senior roles in Sweden, Norway and Luxembourg, including as head of directorship services, Sweden at TMF Group and senior relationship manager for legal and corporate at Intertrust Group.

Apex bought Fundrock Partners in February 2021. Fundrock is a UCITS, management company and AIFM that offers management, risk and distribution solutions for funds based in France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Sweden and the UK.

This is the latest regional expansion for Apex, which made a compliance push into Singapore and hired a head of compliance for the region in August.
