Apex heads to South America

PE Manager tracks third party service providers: Apex expands its presence in LatAm while Alvarez & Marsal poaches a deal advisor from rival firm PwC.

• Boutique alternative assets consultants, Standish Management, have opened a Seattle office. Leading the new branch is Trent Dawson, formerly of venture capital firm Voyager Capital. The firm, which is based in San Francisco, also has offices in Los Angeles, Palo Alto and Boston.

• Options, a private cloud service provider, has named Danny Moore as chief operating officer. Moore was previously chief operating officer of NYSE Euronext’s technology arm, Euronext Technologies.

• Fund administration firm Apex Fund Services has opened up an office in Uruguay as it continues to deepen its footprint in Latin America. The office, located in Montevideo, comes just six months after the opening of the Miami office which linked Apex to the region.

• Technology provider SS&C GlobeOp has updated its private equity platform with the release of TNR Solution Version 2013. The latest release features enhancements to fund accounting and portfolio management functionality, including on-screen reporting views to track investments across various fund structures.

• Former PwC professional Osman Khan has joined the transaction advisory group at Alvarez & Marsal. This new role will see Khan focus on pre- and post-acquisition due diligence as well as divestiture services for investors across the financial services sector.

• Alvarez & Marsal has also added Steve Geringer to its private equity roster. The New York-based managing director will lead the firm’s private equity services for healthcare. Geringer was previously the head of fusion services provider, InfuScience.

• IT and cloud provider, Eze Castle Integration, has launched a private cloud delivery platform, Eze App cloud. The app allows other application providers to combine their existing software with Eze’s private cloud. 

• State Street’s asset management arm, State Street Global Advisors, has launched the Dynamic Diversified Fund for pension funds. The fund will invest across asset classes including alternatives, commodities, real estate and infrastructure. It will also be part of the firm’s flagship Managed Pension Fund.
