Atlantic Pacific taps Credit Suisse for new chief executive

The placement agent has hired Raed Elkhatib, following the departure of Mark Bourgeois at the end of last year.

Atlantic Pacific Capital, a global placement agent, has hired Raed Elkhatib as its new chief executive.

“Origination and diligence is an area where we’ve made a concerted effort to staff up significantly, and Raed’s experience is a very important addition to the team,” Peter Larsen, partner at Atlantic Pacific, told pfm.

Elkhatib led the private funds group at Credit Suisse for 11 years prior to his appointment. He has also held associate and director positions at PwC and Deloitte.

Former Atlantic Pacific CEO Mark Bourgeois left the firm in November 2016, and is now CEO of North America at Abraaj Group, a global investment manager.

The firm unveiled a number of other new hires in January 2017, including Jeffrey Hypes, who had been a VP at Lazard; Kevin Imhoff, formerly a director at Eaton Partners; and Henry Gurley, who was previously a director at Fortress Group.
