Aureos appoints North America IR head

The private equity firm – which is focused on Asia, Africa and Latin America – has hired Gustavo Eiben to oversee relations with the firm’s expanding investor base in the region.

Private equity firm Aureos Capital has brought on former JP Morgan executive Gustavo Eiben to head up its North American investor relations operations, with a focus on providing more senior-level management of the firm’s relationship with its growing investor base on the continent.

Aureos specialises in providing expansion and buyout capital to unlisted mid-cap business in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The firm recently invested $10 million in ITS InfoComunicacion, an IT services provider that supports infrastructure in Costa Rica, while it announced in August that its Aureos Africa Fund had increased its assets under management to $318 million, with a final close expected in December.

Eiben, who will be based in the firm’s New York office, was previously responsible for structuring investment funds and managing them through to market launch at JP Morgan, with a focus on private equity funds. Before that he worked at private equity firm Schroder Ventures US, a private equity firm focused on the middle market business services sector, and was director of investor relations and business development at UBS.
