Blass’s ambitious agenda

Fund valuations, advertising and soliciting rules and more are all on the SEC Investment Management Division director's agenda.

The Securities and Exchange Commission director of the Investment Management Division, Dalia Blass, says the division aims to make recommendations on all proposals in its pipeline, reports Hugh Kennedy. Hugh has the details on what exactly is in that pipeline.

The SEC recently released its final rule on certain fund-of-funds arrangements, which primarily relaxed investment caps on and regulatory hurdles to investing in other funds for registered investment firms and business development companies.

Among the other items in the pipeline, as Hugh reports: fund valuations practices and the proposed changes to the investment advisor advertising and soliciting rules. More to come on those.
