BofA private equity boss resurfaces at PwC

Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s former senior vice president, COO and CFO of global private equity will now oversee PwC’s services to private equity portfolio companies at a time of market uncertainty.

Lisa Pavelka McAlister has joined global professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers as a managing director within the group’s US Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) group.

Prior to the move McAlister acted as senior vice president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global private equity unit.

In her new role McAlister will assist in driving the firm's IPO and capital raising services with private equity and alternative investment companies, according to a statement.

Henri Leveque, head of PwC’s CMAAS group, said McAlister was a welcome addition to the team, adding: “Today’s unpredictable economic environment continues to cause challenges for companies considering an IPO and other capital-raising activities”.

IPOs are expected to account for just one percent of exit activity in Western Europe over the next year, and a meagre nine percent in the US, according to a Grant Thornton private equity paper released last week.
