Carlyle, Blackrock, EQT among 50 speakers at the CFO & COO Europe Virtual Experience on 12-13 Oct

Real estate, debt, private equity and infrastructure are represented at the first virtual CFO and COO event of the season

CFOs and COOs from Carlyle, Macquarie, Blackrock and EQT will be among more than 50 speakers at the CFOs & COOs Europe Virtual Experience on 12-13 October.

Artificial intelligence, infrastructure, debt, real estate, valuations in a pandemic and ESG will all be on the agenda at the first event of the season for those working in the middle offices of alternative investment firms. Find out more here.

Attendees can log on from home or office and join any of the panels covering tax, technology, operations and finance. There will also be streams on the operational challenges to private equity and three other asset classes.

Keynote speakers include Professor Al Naqvi, CEO of the American Institute of Artificial Intelligence, who will be discussing AI; and Ersilia Molnar, COO at Muzinich & Co, who will be focusing on ESG performance measurement. We at Private Funds CFO will also be chairing sessions and look forward to your attendance.

The speaker line-up  includes Erica Herberg, CFO of investment solutions at Carlyle Group; Steve McGoohan, EMEA COO at BlackRock Alternatives; Jamie Lyon, European CFO and COO at LaSalle Investment Management; Fiona Cooper, tax director at Starwood Capital Europe; Apwinder Foster, COO at DRC Capital; Christian Hinze, COO, Europe, at StepStone Group; and Joshua Cherry-Seto, CFO at Blue Wolf Capital. Subjects covered by panel sessions include the following:

  • Alternative asset valuations in unprecedented times
  • What can CFOs, COOs and their teams do to ensure their investors have the highest quality client experience possible?
  • Tech integration from the front to middle office
  • The increasingly strategic role of CFOs and COOs in real estate
  • How the middle office is developing as private debt investment matures
  • Infrastructure asset pricing and emerging markets

It has been a while since Private Funds CFO covered artificial intelligence, but seven CFOs from mid-market firms shared their views on its role here.

Valuations have, of course, been in the spotlight and the changing nature of determining them was captured in this article last month.

Digital transformation, too, will be on the agenda at the CFOs & COOs Europe Virtual Experience. In this commentary, Wolfgang Schroter of EWM Global discusses the apparent consensus that in-house admin processes will eventually have to be entirely digitized.
