Compromised SEC examiner escapes jail sentence

Former SEC examiner sentenced in leak.

The SEC examiner who was indicted in 2019 on felony hacking and obstruction of justice charges will spend nine months on house arrest and pay a fine for sneaking into Commission databases and leaking details of investigations to private equity firm GPB Capital in order to obtain a role as CCO at the firm.
