Christian Broberg, an executive at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, has joined EQT Partners to work in investor relations as the firm expands its capabilities around LP communications.
Broberg replaces Rebekka Schaefer, who left the firm in January. Broberg started at EQT in early September.
Broberg worked for five years in investor relations at CD&R.
A spokesperson for EQT said the firm is expanding its investor relations capabilities as a result of its growth, which includes the formation of funds in different strategies, including vehicles focusing on traditional buyout, China, infrastructure, growth capital and credit strategies. The team is led by Jussi Saarinen.
Broberg joins the firm as it approaches the end of fundraising for its sixth fund, having collected more than €4 billion in less than a year. EQT is expected to hold a final close on its hard-cap of €4.75 billion in the next few weeks, a person with knowledge of the fundraising told Private Equity International in a prior interview. UBS has worked as placement agent for the fundraising.
Many firms have built up their investor relations teams over the past few years to increase communications with limited partners, which has become more important as LPs demand more timely information from GPs.
