ESG-focused Blue Wolf adds COO to the pack

The firm has expanded its C-suite to include a chief operating officer with the appointment of former Star America co-COO Glenn Cummins.

Blue Wolf Capital Partners has announced the hire of Glenn Cummins in the newly created position of chief operating officer. Cummins officially started at the firm earlier this week. His new role will see him take on management of all non-investment activities, which were previously under the supervision of other members of senior management, including partners.

Cummins, a certified public accountant and a chartered financial analyst, is part of what Blue Wolf managing partner Adam Blumenthal says is a building out of the firm’s ESG capabilities, as well as part of its strategy of growing the firm as a whole. The firm describes its mandate as making “transformational investments” in middle market companies, with an eye to combining “financial and operational discipline” with ESG principles. Among its portfolio holdings are healthcare company Elara Caring – one of the largest home-based care providers in the US.

Prior to joining Blue Wolf, Cummins spent two years as co-COO, CFO and CCO at Star America Infrastructure Partners, which also focuses on ESG investments. He also had an almost decade-long tenure as managing director and CFO at Fortress Investment Group, where he oversaw all finance and operational areas of the credit business.

Entering its 15th year in the industry, New York-based Blue Wolf Capital Partners has over $1 billion in assets under management. The firm makes control investments in mid-market companies across healthcare, forest and building products, energy services and industrial and engineering services.
