Five-strong team of PE associates joins Skadden

The group will reunite with former boss Richard Youle who joined the firm last week.

A team of five private equity associates is leaving White & Case to join former boss Richard Youle at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Youle joined Skadden last week along with Katja Bulter, a fellow private equity partner from White & Case.

His clients include CapVes, HgCapital, Terra Firma, Global Infrastructure Partners and Oaktree Capital.

Youle replaced Allan Murray-Jones, a private equity veteran, who retired in 2014. The firm has four private equity partners, and its clients include AXA Private Equity, Blackrock and Equistone Partners Europe.

Elsewhere, Canadian law firm McCarthy Tétrault is opening a New York deals office to support US law firms, private equity firms and clients with Canadian legal matters.

The office will practice Canadian law exclusively and be led by newly-appointed managing partner Mark Adkins, a private equity, mergers and acquisitions lawyer.
