Former Blackstone Asia CFO joins investment fintech start-up

Tim Janke leaves senior vice-president role at State Street Corporation to join blockchain-based platform Xen Technologies.

Xen Technologies has recruited Tim Janke as its new CFO, following his departure from a senior vice-president role at State Street Corporation. Janke has more than two decades of experience in finance, including four years as the first CFO of Blackstone Asia, and roles at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch.

Xen is a blockchain-based technology platform designed to give individual investors fractionalised access to funds traditionally limited to institutional investors and ultra-high net-worth individuals. Launched in 2018, the Singapore-based start-up provides an online portfolio-management platform and allows accredited investors to invest in alternative assets with as little as $100,000 per fund.

“Xen is at the forefront of a revolution in the asset management industry, providing accredited investors in Asia access to alternative asset classes and managers that have historically been the province of large institutional investors,” said Janke in a press release. “I am excited to be joining Xen at this pivotal time as business continues scaling for growth. I look forward to working with the team to embrace the significant opportunities ahead.”
