Fried Frank grows its finance practice

The law firm hired a former Kirkland & Ellis debt finance pro as a partner in its fund finance group.

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has hired Duncan McKay as a partner in its corporate department and finance practice.

McKay represents financial sponsors in connection with a wide range of complex and bespoke financing transactions related to their private equity, secondaries, real estate, infrastructure, private debt and other investment funds.

He is based at the firm’s New York office, and joins from Kirkland & Ellis, where he was a partner in its debt finance practice.

The firm says McKay’s position is an addition to its “active and growing” finance practice as the use of subscription lines, asset-based and NAV facilities, GP securitization and other private placement transactions have become increasingly common across the global funds industry.

He reports to J. Christian Nahr, head of the firm’s global Leveraged Finance Practice.
