Gensler drops the ‘reform’ bomb; Last day to take Insights survey

SEC explores potential reforms around private equity conflicts of interest and expense disclosure.

SEC: Securities and Exchange Commission chair Gary Gensler perked up some ears at a Senate committee hearing when he said the commission is exploring options for regulatory reforms around conflicts of interest and disclosure of fees in private funds. The former co-head of the SEC’s private funds unit, Igor Rozenblit, said the utterance was a significant one.
