Haynes and Boone CDG hires PE partners

Tom Ferns will lead the firm’s new London corporate practice.

Haynes and Boone CDG, an international law firm, has appointed Tom Ferns and Nick Foss-Pedersen to establish a corporate practice in London, headed by Ferns.

The pair join from Rosenblatt Solicitors, a UK law firm, where they were both corporate partners focusing on transactions and exits. They have acted for clients including n+1 singer and Sanlam Securities.

Elsewhere, global law firm Dechert has made hires in Singapore and Germany. Siew Kam Boon joins as a corporate partner in Singapore, working on corporate and private equity transactions. Her clients include Partners Group, Baring Private Equity Asia, Capital Square Partners, Quadria Capital and Everstone Capital. She joins from K&L Gates.

Joachim Kayser was appointed as a financial services and alternative investment partner in Frankfurt. He joins from PwC where he was most recently head of alternative investments and asset management regulatory.

Kayser’s practice focuses on legal and operational advice for investment funds as well as their asset managers, and LPs on regulatory and tax matters. He also structures alternative investment funds.

In the US, Hughes Hubbard Reed has appointed fund formation partner, Alexandra Poe to its corporate team. She joins from Reed Smith, where she was a partner and co-chaired the private fund formation and counselling practice.
