A round up of new industry appointments

Firms

John Patrick Moorhead has been named CFO and COO of AMP Capital in Sydney. He joins the firm from Eight Roads, the investment arm of Fidelity International. Moorhead replaces Margaret Payn, who has been with AMP Capital for five years. The pair will have a one-month transition period before Moorhead takes to the helm in June.

Vivek Ahuja has joined Terra Firma as CFO. He has an equity stake in the business and as well as looking after the firm’s finances, he will liaise with financial officers at portfolio companies. He joins after 17 years at Standard Chartered Bank, where he was most recently deputy group CFO.

Stephanie Pare Sullivan has been promoted to chief operating officer at mid-market firm Charlesbank Capital Partners. She succeeds Tim Palmer, and will retain her role as general counsel. She joined the firm in 2016 from THL Credit, an affiliate of private equity firm Thomas H Lee Partners.

Main Street Capital has named COO Dwayne Hyzak as successor to CEO and co-founder Vincent Foster. Duties will be transferred over the course of the year and Hyzak will take to the helm in the Q4. He has been with the Houston-based firm since 2000 and was CFO between 2011 and 2014.

Partners Group has reshuffled its leadership team. Marc Weiss and Mike Bryant have been named co-heads of private equity real estate, while Vlaud Angeloz has been named as chairman of the division. Bill Berry is now head of private debt.

Regulators

Gerald Hodgkins, associate director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement division, has returned to private practice after 20 years at the regulator. He oversaw more than 100 enforcement actions during his tenure and was a founding member of the SEC’s claims review staff which makes recommendations to the commission about when and how much to award whistleblowers under the agency’s whistleblower program.

Brant Brown, former associate general counsel at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has joined Wilkie Farr & Gallagher as counsel in the Washington office. He will advise asset management and private equity clients on regulatory matters. While at FINRA he developed and drafted regulatory notices and rule filings for submission to the SEC.

Service providers

Shawn McMenimen and Stephen Ho have been promoted to partner at Gen II fund services. McMenimen oversees the firm’s compliance department as well as looking after clients. San Francisco-based Ho looks after clients across the west coast of the US.

Deloitte has made two new appointments. Valere Twagirayezu has re-joined the business as director, accounting private equity and real estate. For the past six months he was funds operational leader at SGG. Francesco Piantoni has been named director accounting real estate having previously been a director in the real estate advisory business.

Brian McKenna has joined Mayer Brown JSM as a partner in its Hong Kong office. He represents private equity sponsors, financial institutions and fund managers on corporate and investment transactions in both New York and Hong Kong. He joins the firm from Debevoise & Plimpton in Hong Kong.

Sophie Reguengo has joined Ogier’s Jersey funds team as counsel. She was previously senior counsel at Walkers where she focused on private equity and real estate fund formation, acquisitions, fund financing, investment structures, joint ventures and Jersey fund regulation.

Dominik Stuehler has joined Allen & Overy’s Munich office as private equity partner. He will focus on national and cross-border deals, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and real estate transactions. His clients include Partners Group, EQT and Blackstone. He was previously at DLA Piper.
