ILPA hires new industry director

Chris Hayes has been named director of industry affairs, focusing on legislative and regulatory issues affecting LPs, and on developing best practice for limited partnership agreements.

The Institutional Limited Partners Association has appointed Chris Hayes as director of industry affairs, based in its Washington, DC office.

He will focus on the legislative, regulatory and public policy initiatives affecting LPs and developing ILPA’s best practice efforts on LP agreements and fund terms.

Hayes joins ILPA from the Small Business Investor Alliance, a trade association representing mid-market private equity funds and investors, where he was most recently general counsel.

Prior to this, he was a litigation attorney at a complex litigation specialist firm in Los Angeles. He has also worked at the Financial Industry Regulation Authority as a regulatory analyst.

ILPA recently rolled out the second phase of its LP reporting template, which focused on expanding its use and further developing best practice for LP reporting.
