KKR hires Euro IR head

The recently listed firm is continuing to build out its investor relations function with another hire from Goldman Sachs.

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts is continuing to build out its investor relations function as it adapts to life as a publicly traded company. The firm, which last week completed a merger with its Euronext-listed affiliate KKR Private Equity Investors, has brought on Alex Fletcher to head its European Client and Partner Group.

Fletcher comes from Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently the head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management EMEA Sales, excluding Germany and Austria. Previously, Fletcher worked with JP Morgan Investment Management, heading its European sub-advisory business.

He will report to Suzanne Donohoe, the global head of the Client and Partner Group, who joined KKR this February. Donohoe also came from Goldman Sachs; she previously ran its international asset management unit.

“We believe the current economic environment provides us with attractive new opportunities to build stronger relationships with our investment partners,” KKR co-founders Henry Kravis and George Roberts said in a statement at the time of Donohoe’s hire.

In late September, KKR appointed executive Jonathan Levin as its first ever head of investor relations for its public shareholders. In November 2008 the firm named a former Newsweek bureau chief, Peter McKillop, as its director of global communications.

KKR did not return calls by press time.
