KPMG names VC co-head

PFM tracks third party service providers: Conor Moore will co-lead KPMG’s venture practice; Palico offers free data to LPs; BNP Paribas acquires rival depository; more.

KPMG named Conor Moore national co-leader of its US venture capital practice. Moore, who joined KPMG from Arthur Andersen in 2002, had been partner-in-charge of venture capital at the firm’s Northern California technology arm.

Palico, an online private equity networking tool, is offering LPs who join its network free GP benchmarking data. LPs will be able to see full performance data on more than 2,400 funds.

Milestone Group, software providers to the funds industry, hired Robert Caporale as a managing director and head of North America. Caporale joins from JP Morgan where he was a managing director within the Investor Services team.

• Guernsey fund administration firm Fund Corporation is to be acquired by Brazilian emerging markets firm Providence Financial, subject to regulatory approval. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

Alvarez & Marsal, a professional services firm, teamed up with real estate software provider METIS Financial Network so that A&M’s real estate clients will now be able to benefit from METIS’ software.

LinkedIn has launched a compliance program designed to help advisors and financial services firms meet SEC record-keeping and supervision requirements while using the networking website. The LinkedIn Certified Compliance Partners program aims to remove the barriers to social media adoption created by SEC rules governing the display and storage of social media content.

BNP Paribas Securities Services acquired Banco Popular's depository banking business in Spain. GPs in Europe are required to appoint a depository under the EU’s Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD).

• M&A technology provider SRS|Acquiom launched Acquiom|Clearinghouse, an online M&A payments administration service. It works by providing an online account for the buyer while the seller uses online forms to access the account.

Nair & Co and High Street Partners merged to create Radius Worldwide, a provider of finance, banking, tax, HR, legal and compliance services.

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) Ireland launched a “depository lite” offering for offshore fund managers required to appoint a depository under the AIFMD.

• Private equity fund administrator, Ipes, added Jean McNutt as client director for Ipes Jersey and Gillian Newton as deputy company secretarial director for Ipes Guernsey. McNutt was formerly a director at State Street and Newton worked for investment bank Dexion Capital.

Cordium, a compliance consulting firm, is partnering with financial services technology provider Indus Valley Partners to offer an AIFMD Annex IV reporting solution.

Accordion Partners, the New York-based private equity consulting firm, appointed Suneel Kaji as managing director and Srin Subra as vice president. Kaji was previously senior portfolio manager of private investments at hedge fund The Rohatyn Group/TRG Management. Subra was a vice president at iQor, a provider of outsourced customer support for businesses.

• Deal platform GrowthCap extended its private equity function to include investment opportunities for ultra-high net worth individuals.
