Mainsail Partners hires tech-focused CFO

The San Francisco-based firm recruited a CFO who will double as an operating partner.

Ron Will has joined growth equity firm Mainsail Partners as chief financial officer and operating partner.

He was previously the CFO of video advertising company BrightRoll, which was sold to Yahoo last December for $640 million.

In addition to overseeing the San Francisco firm’s finance and accounting functions, Will represents the third member of the firm’s growing operations team, having a specialty in tech-focused companies.

“[Will] brings an impressive background and successful track record of scaling fast-growing technology companies and building organizations,” said Gavin Turner, managing partner at Mainsail.

Mainsail is currently investing from its third buyout fund, which closed on $216 million in 2012, as well as a $4.3 million co-investment vehicle, which closed in 2013, according to PEI’s research and analytics division.
