• Private equity firm New Mountain Capital will take a controlling stake in ACA Compliance, a regulatory compliance consultancy. There will be no changes to the senior leadership or staffing of the business. No financial details of the transaction, which is expected to close in early December, have been disclosed.
• Alvarez & Marsal, a professional services firm, has named Uwe Klenk as the firm’s European retail practice co-head, working alongside Dan Murphy. Klenk, who joins from home appliances company Foxtrot Ukraine, will also support the firm’s consumer goods practice across continental Europe.
• Alvarez & Marsal has also hired Nausheer Allibhoy, Robert Corso, Michael Halliwell and William Snyder as managing directors in its valuation practice. Allibhoy joins the firm's Los Angeles office from accounting and consulting firm SingerLewak, where he led its valuation advisory practice. Corso, who joins Alvarez & Marsal's New York office, previously worked at investment bank Houlihan Lokey. And Halliwell joins the Atlanta office from Taylor Consulting Group, a valuation and financial consultant. He previously served as head of KPMG's regional valuation services for its information, communication and entertainment practice. Snyder will work in Washington DC after spending eight years in China, where he led Duff & Phelps's Shanghai office.
• First Names Group, a trust, fund and corporate services provider, has appointed Carlos Rebelo as group business development manager. Rebelo was previously a vice president at State Street Luxembourg. It has also appointed Tom Hardman as associate director in the firm’s Jersey office. Hardman joins from investment consultancy firm, Asset Risk Consultants, where he was an investment analyst.
• Altium, a mid-market corporate finance advisor, has hired Christopher Jones as a managing director in its London office. Jones joins from investment bank Livingstone Partners, where he led the consumer sector team.
• Insurance firm Ironshore Canada has introduced a new policy for Canadian-based private equity and venture capital firms, protecting against portfolio investment risks. The policy provides coverage for directors, employment practices liability insurance lines and general liability risks.
• Corporate and fund services provider JTC Group has acquired the fund administration business of the Guernsey-based Anson Group. Anson’s 22 staff employed in the Guernsey and UK offices will continue to work for JTC.
• iLEVEL, a cloud-based software provider, has signed a referral partnership with BerchWood Partners, a placement agent for alternative fund managers. The partnership with iLEVEL rewards BerchWood for introducing the iLEVEL platform to fund managers.
• FRP Advisory, a restructuring and recovery firm, has added Michael Healy as partner to its London office. He joins from rival firm Leonard Curtis.
• FRP Advisory has also bolstered its presence in Scotland with three new offices: in Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen. Tom MacLennan and Iain Fraser have joined from accountancy firm RSM Tenon, where they ran its Scottish restructuring practice, to head the three Scottish offices.
• Accounting and consulting firm BDO has appointed Susan Walker as a senior director within the mergers and acquisitions team. Walker, who will be based in London, joins from London stockbroker Fox-Davies Capital.
• Alter Domus, a fund services firm, has named Patrick McCullagh as global head of sales. McCullagh joins from JP Morgan, where he was head of business development for EMEA private equity and real estate fund services.
