New SEC proposals said to be in the works

Gensler eyes accredited investor, shareholder of record reforms; Survey suggests more steps needed to ready for SEC’s private funds rules

Regulation: SEC chairman Gary Gensler is pushing Commission staff to come up with new rule proposals that would change the definitions of accredited investors and shareholder of record. Bill Myers reports.

And a survey taken at a recent EisnerAmper webinar suggests that firms are, as yet, unprepared for any final rules the SEC produces from its recent proposals, and that market players expect the regulator’s ESG proposals to be the hardest to implement.
