Minnesota-based middle market firm Norwest Equity Partners has made a new hire and several internal promotions as the firm works to build out its team.Â
Darren Herz has been promoted to treasurer. Herz joined the company in 1997 and is actively involved in all financial activities for the firm's equity and mezzanine funds. Herz helps lead the firm’s finance, accounting, tax functions and portfolio performance analysis, according to Norwest’s website.
He also works closely with the various finance, legal, and regulatory reporting departments at Wells Fargo, NEP’s majority limited investment partner.
Meanwhile Kevin Torgerson has joined the firm as a principal on the investment staff, where he will focus on operational improvement and strategy formation. He will also have responsibility for sourcing new investment opportunities, developing investment theses, and supporting the evaluation and due diligence phase across a broad range of industries.Â
Prior to joining Norwest, Torgerson was at BT Global Services where he was the president of strategy, marketing and growth operations.Â
Internally, Christina Miller has also been promoted to principal. Miller joined Norwest in 2009, and focuses on management buyouts, recapitalizations, and growth financings across a variety of industries, with a special focus on healthcare IT and business services.
Finally, Heather Goodwin has been promoted to vice president, marketing. She also provides this role to Norwest Mezzanine Partners, the firm’s affiliated mezzanine fund.
