Orrick boosts Milan PE practice

Orrick has appointed Gabriel Monzon-Cortarelli to lead its M&A and private equity teams in Milan and the US.

The teams advise Italian businesses on financing their expansion into the US market. Monzon-Cortarelli will work across Orrick’s Milan and New York offices.

He joins Orrick from Seyfarth Shaw, an international law firm, where he was a partner, and led its Italian practice.

In New York, US-focused Olshan Frome Wolosky has appointed Margaret Bae as a corporate partner. Bae joins from SoEnergy International, where she was general counsel and a senior vice-president. Her expertise includes M&A, joint ventures, corporate finance and private equity. Prior to SoEnergy, she was general counsel at another energy firm, Contour Global.

Elsewhere, Proskauer Rose has appointed Paul Lucas as a partner in its corporate practice in London. Lucas specializes in real estate finance, advising private equity clients, funds and other financial institutions.

He joins from Linklaters, where he was a managing associate and then counsel. His clients have included Abu Dhabi Financial Group.
