PEI survey: 50% of managers will hold more LP meetings online in the future

The survey of investors and managers shows that the covid-19 pandemic may permanently change how industry professionals interact with each other.

An exclusive survey of managers and investors by sister title Private Equity International shows that the covid-19 epidemic is causing the industry to rethink how much travel is needed to do business. Half of the managers surveyed say they will be holding more online meetings when things normalize. Nearly a quarter said they will hold digital fundraising roadshows, and 27 percent said they will attend fewer industry conferences in person.

The survey took the responses from 119 managers and 77 investors from March 25-27, 2020.

Investors are less certain to change how they interact with their managers, though more than half either will, or are so far unsure if they will, conduct due diligence and attend AGMs remotely, as well as travel to fewer industry conferences.

Whatever the outcome, it is clear that the pandemic is causing many investors and managers to reconsider the amount of travel they do to conduct business.
