Q&A with a remote starting CFO; Summer internship plans and hopes

Advisory firm Erie Street’s new CFO talks about settling in to a new role during the lockdown; Firms plan for a different approach to summer internships.

CFO Q&A: Connor Hussey brings us this Q&A with Matthew Hallgren, private equity advisory firm Erie Street’s new CFO. Hallgren started his new gig at the end of March, and tells Connor about settling into his new role remotely, and the steps he took to protect Erie’s business as the pandemic’s full force took hold of the US economy.

Internships: My PE Hub colleague Milana Vinn has this fantastic look at what private equity firms plan to do about their summer internship programs. Milana has the details on the approaches various firms – including Carlyle, Riverside, TPG and more – may take, including hosting interns virtually, postponing and compressing the program, or holding out for a return to some kind of normalcy.
