Elsewhere, further evidence that LPs are paying less attention to IRRs and more to public market equivalents comes from a panel run by private equity data platform Burgiss, reports sister publication Private Equity International. Landmark Partners, for example, uses a “direct alpha” algorithm, which is calculated based on the series of private equity cashflows that are capitalised by single public market benchmark returns, such as the MSCI World or S&P 500, to the same single point in time.
