Remote surprise

More accountants are doing surprise exams remotely, and it comes with some challenges.

Carl Ayers writes that it’s been a bit of a chore to get accountants into the office for exams this year, given the coronavirus pandemic. About 13 percent of registered investment advisors opt for surprise exams each year, but they’re taking longer than usual, given the challenges remote audits pose.
