The law firm has made a total of 11 partner promotions across its US, UK and Asia offices, including six in the firm’s private equity teams.

Ropes & Gray has promoted 11 partners across its global business, six of which are located in the firm’s private equity teams, in its annual promotion round.

The promotions include Vincent Ip in Hong Kong and Nikhil Bodade in New York. Ip represents institutional investors in connection with investments in private equity funds, hedge funds and separate accounts, as well as co-investment and secondary transactions. His clients include AlpInvest Partners, Bain Capital, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Harvest Capital Partners. Bodade advises private equity and strategic buyers and sellers in a range of US and cross-border transactions.

The firm made the highest number promotions in its Boston office, where four lawyers were boosted to partner-level. Those with private equity experience include Charles Boer, who advises private equity firms and strategic investors in the structuring and negotiation of leveraged buyouts, public and private mergers, and acquisitions and divestitures, and Patricia Lynch, who has experience in structured finance and fund financing transactions, including collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and credit fund leverage facilities.

In London, the firm promoted David Seymour, who specializes in real estate investments and transactions, and UK tax lawyer Andrew Howard, who advises on transactions involving investment funds, including private equity, finance, securitization, special situations, real estate and fund formation.

The promotions are effective from November 1 2016.
