SEC confirms Dalia Blass as investment management director

The Ropes & Gray investment management counsel will replace David Grim, who stepped down in August.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has confirmed the appointment of Dalia Blass as director of investment management.

Blass joins from international law firm Ropes & Gray, where she was counsel in the investment management practice. She replaces David Grimm, who stepped down in August.
Blass has worked at the SEC in a variety of roles over the past 12 years, most recently as assistant chief counsel in the investment management division.

The division recently clarified additional Form ADV disclosure rules coming into force in October.

If a firm files an amendment to the regulatory document before its annual update is due, but does not have enough data to provide a complete response to the new or revised questions, “the staff would not recommend enforcement action if it responds ‘0’ as a placeholder with a note identifying it as a placeholder,” the regulator said.
