Swander Pace Capital hires new CFO, CCO

The firm has announced the appointment of Virginia Calvo as its new chief financial officer and chief compliance officer amid a wave investment team promotions.

Mid-market firm Swander Pace Capital has announced the hiring of Virginia Calvo as chief financial officer and chief compliance officer, where she will lead the firm’s finance, accounting, compliance and investor relations functions from its Bedminster, New Jersey office.

Calvo joins the consumer products-focused investment manager from TSG Consumer Partners, where she served as director of finance. Before that, she had been vice-president in the private equity group of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (and at Blackrock after it acquired the unit). She was also in the hedge fund and private equity fund controller’s group at Goldman Sachs, and earlier in her career at PwC, where she performed financial due diligence in M&A transactions.

The appointment comes on top of a number of internal promotions, including Tyler Matlock to managing director, Alex Litt to senior vice-president, Amy Li to vice-president and Anne Lee to senior associate.

“We are thrilled to have Virginia join the team and to announce the promotions of Tyler, Alex, Amy and Anne,” said Andrew Richards, founder and CEO of Swander Pace Capital. “It’s a great way to kick off 2021 and we are excited for the future.”

Swander Pace Capital maintains offices in San Francisco, Bedminster and Toronto. It has invested in 55 companies and raised $1.8 billion since inception in 1996.
