The covid-19 pandemic has deeply impacted private equity, particularly when it comes to managers who are on the fundraising trail. The inability to travel and meet face to face has forced a significant portion of the managers who planned to launch new funds this year to delay, particularly emerging managers raising their first and second funds, says Withum partner and financial services group practice leader Tom Angell. Perhaps not surprisingly, though, certain funds are actually performing quite well in the pandemic, including turnaround funds and secondaries funds.
Private Funds CFO editor Graham Bippart discusses these topics and more in a comprehensive, socially distanced interview.
