Willkie expands PE practice in Houston

The law firm added a finance partner and an energy M&A partner to its private equity group.

Willkie Farr & Gallagher has hired debt finance lawyer Andrew Thomison and energy M&A lawyer Brad Honeycutt in the firm’s private equity practice in Houston.

Both join the law firm from Baker Botts, where they were partners.

Thomison represents borrowers, financial institutions, capital companies, agent banks, private equity funds and other institutional investors with acquisition financings, senior and subordinated debt, working capital credit facilities, bridge loans, asset-based financings, secured and unsecured term lending, high-yield debt offerings, private placements of securities, reserve-based lending and other forms of debt financing.

Honeycutt advises energy companies, private equity investors and other public and private companies with corporate and transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, private financing transactions, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations and general corporate matters.

The firm said private equity and energy remain important growth areas and the firm will continue to strategically build out those businesses.

Thomison’s and Honeycutt’s arrivals follow that of private equity partner Kris Agarwal, who joined Willkie’s Houston office in May.
