ADIA appoints CFO

The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority has chosen Marc Keirstead as chief financial officer of its private equity department.

Marc Keirstead will be responsible for valuations, reporting, fund administration management and compliance for Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA)'s private equity portfolio.

As chief financial officer of the sovereign wealth fund's private equity department, Keirstead will report to Hareb Al Darmaki, the unit's executive director.

Keirstead, formerly of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), will be based in Abu Dhabi.

The appointment of Keirstead comes less than a month after ADIA bolstered its co-investment capabilities by bringing Tara Capital founder Colm Lanigan on-board as principal of investments.

Prior to joining the CPPIB, where he was director of investment finance overseeing the finance and operations functions of its private investment portfolio, Keirstead held senior roles at the private equity investment subsidiary of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) and a number of companies in media, digital entertainment and communications.

ADIA’s Private Equities Department invests globally in private equity funds as a traditional LP but also on a co-investment basis.
