Antares builds back office team

The mid-cap lending firm has named a new CFO and appointed heads of legal, HR and IT.

Antares Capital has made a string of senior level back office hires, naming Barry Giarraputo as chief financial officer, Mary Cecola as chief information officer, Bruce Frank as general counsel and Lisa Jablonski as managing director and head of human resources.

Until August last year, Antares was part of GE Capital. These roles have been created to fulfill functions that were previously handled by GE Capital, a spokesperson for Antares told pfm.

Giarraputo joins the firm’s New York office from investment firm 40 North Management, where he worked for a year as chief operating officer, after a previous nine-year stint in multiple financial roles at private growth firm Apollo Global Management.

Cecola is based in the firm’s Chicago office and joins from Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) of Des Moines. During her time at FHLB, she worked as chief business technology officer for three years and has experience in leading the IT efforts within financial service firms.

Frank and Jablonski, also based in the firm’s Chicago office, join from previous roles at NXT capital and Calamos Investments, respectively.

The appointments will help the firm to “solidify a top notch team of leaders during the evolution of the company,” said John Martin, managing partner and co-chief executive officer at Antares, in a statement.

Antares Capital has provided more than $120 billion of financing for mid-cap private equity transactions and was named “2013 Lender of the Year” by Private Debt Investor and Private Equity International.
