Baker & McKenzie adds PE partner

M&A lawyer Arman Kuyumjian will focus on healthcare and pharmaceutical transactions.

Private equity transactional attorney Arman Kuyumjian has joined Baker & McKenzie’s New York corporate and securities practice.

Kuyumjian is the sixth lateral partner to join the firm in recent months and will focus on healthcare and pharmaceutical mergers and acquisitions. He will also be a member of the firm’s healthcare industry group, supporting cross-border transactions.

His hire is part of the firm’s expansion of its cross-border services.

Kuyumjian joins from Haynes and Boone, where he advised on corporate governance issues, shareholder activism and defence measures. Prior to this, he spent seven years as a corporate lawyer in the M&A group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.

Baker & McKenzie’s corporate practice has advised on a string of recent global transactions, including Baxter’s spinoff of its biopharmaceutical division.

Recent recruits to the team include corporate lawyers Jan Joosten, Steve Canner and Nick Marchica, restructuring and insolvency attorneys Debra Dandeneau and Peter Goodman, and Mark Tibberts, a project finance attorney.
