Barings adds to European real estate team

The real estate advisor has made two new hires, and moved a vice-president from a California office.

Barings has boosted its European team with the addition of two new staff, and the relocation of John Bryant Gerber, vice-president of structured real estate investment.

Lars Rogeberg has been appointed director of asset management for the real estate debt team, and joins from Deutsche Pfandbriefbank where he was an associate director. He will be responsible for portfolio management, and analysing and underwriting new real estate debt opportunities.

Henry Marlow joins as an analyst in the real estate finance team, and will be charged with the underwriting and due diligence of new investments, and the development of financial models for underwriting new deals and monitoring performance. He joins the firm from EY.

Relocating from the firm’s Newport Beach, California office, John Bryant Gerber will take on a new role in the European team as vice-president of real estate investment. He was previously vice-president of structured real estate investment.

The Barings European debt business was founded in September 2013 and is now worth around €1 billion.
