Berenson appointed general counsel at TPG

The ex-General Electric and presidential counsel has joined the Texas-headquartered asset manager.

Asset manager TPG has appointed Bradford Berenson as general counsel, based in its San Francisco office.

He will start at the firm on March 6, replacing Ron Cami, who left in 2015.

Berenson joins the firm from General Electric, where he was vice president and senior counsel for litigation and legal policy. Prior to joining GE, he was a partner at Sidley Austin in Washington, DC.

He also served as counsel to the president of the United States between 2001 and 2003, working on judicial selection, congressional oversight and policy initiatives.

TPG is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, and has more than $74 billion in assets under management. It invests in private equity, real estate and growth venture asset classes, among others.
