BNY Mellon names Asia asset services lead

Northern Trust’s Rohit Singh replaces Francis Braeckevelt.

BNY Mellon, a global investments manager and service provider, has named Rohit Singh as its asset services head for Asia-Pacific.

He will lead the division, which offers operational services to investment management clients, from Singapore, and takes over from Francis Braeckevelt who had the role on a temporary basis. Braeckevelt will resume his original role of Asia-Pacific chief operating officer for asset servicing.

Singh joins BNY Mellon from Northern Trust, a fund services firm, where he led the South-East Asian region.

The appointment comes as the firm seeks to build on the region’s growth potential “within alternative investments” including real estate and private equity funds, said Samir Pandiri, executive vice-president of BNY Mellon and chief executive officer of asset servicing.
