CBRE GI taps COO for president

Danny Queenan, who has been COO since 2015, has moved up to president.

Los Angeles-based CBRE Global Investors (GI) has appointed its chief operating officer Danny Queenan as president.

The new role expands Queenan’s duties to include responsibility for CBRE GI’s regional businesses, with the leaders of the Americas and EMEA reporting to him. Queenan will also oversee those heading up the Asia Pacific region, where the firm is currently raising a $700 million value added fund.

Prior to his role as COO, Queenan was the CEO of CBRE’s Asia Pacific region from July 2013 through August 2015. He also concurrently served as CEO of subsidiary Trammell Crow from March 2011 through March 2016. Before working at Trammell Crow, Queenan was the president and CEO of Opus North, a Minneapolis-based commercial real estate company.

In a March leadership shuffle at CBRE GI, the firm’s then-CEO, Matt Khourie, handed the reins to Ferguson, PERE previously reported. Khourie then became the CEO of Trammell Crow, where he worked for 29 years.

CBRE GI managed $87.9 billion in assets as of September 30
