Charlesbank appoints general counsel

The former managing director and general counsel at Thomas H. Lee Partners has joined the private equity firm.

Charlesbank Capital Partners has named Stephanie Pare Sullivan as general counsel and chief administrative officer, where she will be responsible for all legal activities related to the firm’s investment process, regulatory and compliance matters, alongside risk management and operations.

She replaces Tami Nason, who announced her plan to retire this summer. Tami will continue as chief compliance officer until June, according to a statement.

Sullivan started at the firm in January after spending more than five years at THL Credit, the affiliate of fellow Boston-based private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners.

Her work at THL Credit included legal and compliance review of business operations, investing transactions, strategic initiatives and regulatory matters.

Earlier in her career, Sullivan was a partner at Goodwin Procter, where she was a member of the private equity and technology companies practices, according to the statement.

Sullivan’s appointment comes at the same time as new chief financial officer John Fiyod, who also started at the firm in January. Fiyod joined Charlesbank from Boston-based investment firm Berkshire Partners, where he served for nearly 10 years as vice president of finance, reported by pfm.

Charlesbank has offices in Boston and New York, and focuses on management-led buyouts and growth capital financings, typically investing in companies with enterprise values of $150 million to $1 billion.
