Charlesbank creates CFO position

Kevin Brown was given the chief financial officer title after 15 years with the firm.

Charlebank Capital Partners has promoted Kevin Brown to chief financial officer, having previously been senior vice president of finance and accounting at the firm. 

Brown has been with Charlesbank since its inception in 1998, previously working at its predecessor firm, Harvard Private Capital Group, and at Harvard Management Company. 

“Kevin has been a mainstay of Charlesbank for many years,” Charlesbank chief operating officer and managing director Michael Thonis said in a statement. “His new title reflects his valuable experience, leadership abilities and broadening role in ensuring the ongoing integrity of our firm’s financial information systems.”

Charlesbank declined further comment.

Based in Boston and New York, Charlesbank is a mid-market firm managing some $2 billion of capital. Charlesbank focuses on management-led buyouts and growth capital financings, typically investing $50 million to $150 million per transaction in companies with enterprise values of $100 million to $750 million.
