Charlesbank names new CFO

The former vice president of finance at Berkshire Partners joined the Boston-based middle market firm.

Charlesbank Capital Partners appointed John Fiyod as its new chief financial officer (CFO), where he will be responsible for planning and overseeing all finance-related activities, including accounting, tax, and both portfolio and financial reporting.

Fiyod is replacing Kevin Brown, who had held the position since December 2012. Brown left Charlesbank at the end of the summer and now serves as CFO at Leerink Capital Partners.

Fiyod started at the firm on Monday after spending nearly 10 years at fellow Boston-based investment firm Berkshire Partners, where he most recently served as Vice President of Finance. Prior to Berkshire, Fiyod worked in audit and assurance services for the Investment Management Group at PwC.

“With his extensive private equity and financial experience, [Fiyod] is well-suited to take on the CFO role,” said Charlesbank chief operating officer Tim Palmer in a statement.

Based in Boston and New York, Charlesbank focuses on management-led buyouts and growth capital financings, typically investing in companies with enterprise values of $150 million to $1 billion.
