E&Y bolsters deal advisory team

PE Manager tracks third party service providers: Ernst & Young adds to its transaction advisory team while Baird names its chief operating officer.

Nicholas Warren has joined Heritage International Fund Managers to oversee the financial services firm's Malta office. Before joining Heritage, Warren was previously a  funds manager at Amicorp Fund Services Malta, according to his LinkedIn profile, where he was responsible for overseeing valuation calculations as well as advising on regulatory and compliance matters.

Thomson Reuters has introduced a solution to help firms comply with the requirements of the US Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act. The system helps firms with on-boarding, classifying and documenting new clients as well as W-8 and W-9 form preparation and data collection for foreign financial institutions, including private equity firms. 

Gleacher Shacklock, a financial advisory firm, has added Richard Slimmon as a partner. Slimmon, who has more than 20 years experience working on M&A, debt and equity advisory and issuance, was previously a managing director at Deutsche Bank.

Based in London, Marcy will focus on private equity as well as buy and sell-side advisory work. He joins Menzies from Paxton Advisors, an independent corporate finance boutique he established back in 2010. Prior to Paxton Marcy worked in the corporate finance divisions of Deloitte and Smith & Williamson.

Ernst & Young have added Orlan Boston, Steven McLeighton, Ben Pickering, Thomas Taylor, Giri Varadarajan, and Simon Western to the the firm's transaction advisory services practice. All come to E&Y with experience in either M&A, private equity or restructuring advisory. Taylor joins from mid-market private equity firm JLL Partners, McLeighton from KPMG, Western from Nomura, Pickering from a boutique restructuring firm in the US and Boston and Giri from Deloitte Consulting. 

• Financial services firm Baird has promoted Steve Booth to chief operating officer. Booth will take on the role, adding to his current responsibilities as director of investment banking and co-head of the firm's equity capital markets business. It is expected that Booth will eventually succeed Baird's chairman, president and chief executive Paul Purcell.
