FTI launches private equity practice

Brian Kushner will lead the firm’s advisory practice, which provides private equity investment consulting.

FTI Consulting, a global business advisory firm, has launched a private equity division, Private Capital Advisory Services (PCAS).

The service advises on private equity deals for the full lifecycle of investments. The service comprises existing teams across the firm's locations.

The service is led by Brian Kushner, who has worked at the firm since 2009, when it acquired his private equity and consultancy firm CXO. He will remain based in Dallas.

“In launching the PCAS offering, we’re co-ordinating all our activities across FTI's global footprint and our different business lines,” said Kushner, head of the PCAS at FTI Consulting.

“We have a variety of business segments and practices, including corporate finance and restructuring, forensic and litigation consulting and economic consulting, all approaching the market by industry and each with their own expertise. We’re connecting with the same clients in a more cohesive way.”

The firm has also appointed Keith Cox as managing director of the PCAS in Los Angeles. Cox joins from Hitachi Consulting, a global consulting firm, where he was vice president of private equity business development.

“The thinking behind the offering, is to provide a classic coverage model for private equity clients and their portfolio companies, and our hedge fund clients,” said Kushner. “We’re giving them the benefit of our expert insights into the market, access to our deal flow as well as the expert driven investment theses we’re developing.”
