KPS hires new head of IR, marketing – Exclusive

Shavonne Correia (pictured) came from Pantheon and replaces Emily Vavrichek, who will transition out of the firm later this year.

KPS Capital Partners has hired Shavonne Correia as head of investor relations and marketing, according to her LinkedIn profile and KPS's website.

She started in her new position in May.

Correia replaces Emily Vavrichek, who has relocated to Seattle, according to a source familiar with the matter. Vavrichek will remain at the firm until its annual meeting later this year to transition responsibilities to Correia, the source added.

KPS declined to comment on the appointment.

Correia comes from Pantheon Ventures, where she served as vice president focusing on marketing and client services. Her responsibilities also included covering existing and prospective investors in the eastern United States as well as in The South and portions of the Midwest, according to her Linkedin.

Prior to that, she worked at Mercury Capital Advisors, where she was responsible for raising institutional capital for alternative investment funds such as private equity, real estate, infrastructure and venture capital. In her career, she also worked at Merrill Lynch as an associate focused on raising institutional capital for private equity funds on a global basis.

KPS, which has about $5.6 billion in assets under management, makes control equity investments in troubled companies or companies experiencing a period of transition. Its most recent fund, KPS Special Situations Fund IV, closed in 2013 on $3.57 billion, above its $3 billion target.
