Oxx taps Carlyle partner for advisory role

The mid-market firm spun out from Amadeus Capital Partners at the end of January.

Oxx has appointed Carlyle Group’s Robert Easton as a senior advisor.

Easton is currently managing director in Carlyle’s technology practice. He is also vice-chairman of the British Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.

Oxx reportedly began fundraising discussions toward the end of last year, according to a source familiar with the matter. The firm declined to comment on fundraising plans.

It recently spun out of Amadeus Capital Partners and is led by two former Amadeus partners, Richard Anton and Mikael Johnsson. Oxx will invest through a hybrid of primaries and direct secondaries into B2B software companies in the UK, the Nordics and Israel.

The duo will manage six of Amadeus’s existing portfolio companies, ranging from recent to “longstanding” investments, on behalf of their previous firm.
