Pemberton hires head of investor relations

Mike Anderson, with 14 years’ of experience in private debt, has left ICG to become Pemberton’s new head of investor relations.

Private debt manager Pemberton, backed by UK insurer Legal and General, has hired Mike Anderson as head of investor relations, the firm announced.

Anderson joined the group in September from London-headquartered Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), where most recently, he was responsible for investor relations across the UK, Middle East and global consultant relations. Prior to this, he worked in the mezzanine investment team at ICG, firstly in the UK and latterly in the US market.

Anderson has 14 years of experience in the private debt markets and will focus on building and developing relationships with the investment community, said the statement by the firm. He will also assist the firm's existing institutional client base.

“We are continuing to see growing appetite from institutional investors for long-term lending strategies to high quality European mid-market borrowers, and we're committed to developing strong and responsive partnerships with these investors. Mike is ideally suited to managing these relationships, given his credit background and his understanding of investor requirements within private debt,” Symon Drake-Brockman, managing partner of Pemberton, said.

Anderson's experience includes fundraising for mezzanine and direct lending funds and developing new client and consultant relationships. He also has experience in both the UK and US markets, being responsible for origination and portfolio management from 2001.

Anderson commented: “The European private debt landscape has seen tremendous change in recent years, providing exciting opportunities for a new breed of participants in the market. Pemberton's long-term approach to investing, with the strong backing of Legal & General, is perfectly suited to capitalize upon the growing demand from borrowers for alternative sources of capital and I'm looking forward to working with the team as we continue to educate investors on the Pemberton approach to this new asset class.”
