Lund joins HarbourVest from SVG

Simon Lund has joined HarbourVest Partners as head of sales and marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. 
In his new role, Lund will be based in London and manage and enhance relationships with new investors and their advisers in these regions, the firm said in a statement. Lund will focus on the marketing of HarbourVest’s private funds, fund of funds, secondary funds and direct/ co-investment funds. 
“He brings extensive experience with a track record of success in building relationships with prospective investors, fund raising, and new product development,” George Anson, managing director of HarbourVest Partners, said in a statement.
Lund was formerly with SVG, a London-based private equity fund of funds manager. He spent 15 years with SVG Advisers, in London and Singapore, focusing on the marketing and distribution of SVG’s funds to institutional investors. Lund was most recently the director of SVG’s Singapore office, which he set up in 2008. 
Separately, Bert Kwan, who joined HarbourVest’s Hong Kong office in 2009 to focus on secondary investments in Asia, has left the firm. Kwan joined HarbourVest from Lehman Brothers Private Equity in Hong Kong, where he worked on buyout, growth equity and fund of funds investments across pan-Asia. 
HarbourVest currently has more than 230 employees including more than 70 investment professionals in Boston, London and Hong Kong. The firm has committed more than $22 billion to new funds managed by about 200 private equity fund managers. HarbourVest has also completed more than $6 billion worth of secondary purchases and has invested $4 billion directly in companies.
